"Lonestar" Coming to Las Colinas
The Studios at Las Colinas will be the home for a new FOX network television series! "Lonestar," starring academy award winning actor Jon Voight, will be filmed at The Studios at Las Colinas. The FOX primetime series will occupy the stages after the most recent series for ABC television, "The Deep End," was cancelled. Set in Houston, "Lonestar" follows the drama of a rich oil family, headed by Voight, whose son-in-law lives a second life in Midland with a girlfriend. Set construction begins in July and filming tentatively is planned for August. The state of the art soundstages have been busy with television production after many years of housing major motion pictures such as "Silkwood," "The Trip to Bountiful," "Robocop," and "JFK."
Las Colinas Omni Named to 2010 World's Best Hotel List
An unprecedented eight Omni Hotels have been named on Travel + Leisure's annual list of the top 500 hotels in the world, featured in the January 2010 issue of the esteemed travel magazine as well as on travelandleisure.com/tl500. Seven Omni Hotels are named on the T+L 500 in the United States: the Omni San Francisco Hotel; the Omni Berkshire Place in New York; the Omni Hotel at Independence Park in Philadelphia; the Omni Chicago Hotel; the Omni Mandalay Hotel at Las Colinas near Dallas; the Omni La Mansion del Rio and the Watermark Hotel & Spa in San Antonio. The Omni Mont-Royal in Montreal, Canada is included on the T+L 500.

Las Colinas-based Boy Scouts of America Celebrates Centennial
